Kastair United was a massive resource spacepower organization, providing planets and empires it hosted with goods and resources in exchange for some political power and influence. In its biggest incantation, it took up several million galaxies. However, it was proven to not actually have the resources it promised to provide, and was merely a corrupt, oppressive, tyrannical governance that threw parts of the universe into impoverishment and instability--including Planet Earth (Lookout).
KU is one of many spacepowers held responsible for disrupting the massive period of peacetime and unity following the Great Universal Revolution, by tricking weakened planets into joining them for help. The Great Empire was hooked on after the Great Civil War, where it was weak from reformation. KU dissipated in Age 1500 with the death of its leaders by the hands of the Neo Lookout Crew. KU was funded by Big Red, creating conflict between the already-rivals Great Empire and the Big Red Partnership, soon escalating into the War of Unification.

KU was formed in Age 1277 by Asimos Kyrr, or King Kyrr. Originally, it had good intentions. It collected many followers and delivered its promises. This worked well for decades--until resources became sparse. King Kyrr died around the time of the Great Civil War in 1332, leaving his son Lord Kyrr in charge. He had evil intentions and kept KU active,using it as a ploy. As a result of the war, the Great Empire was weakened and had few allies or resources, as it had been overthrown and reformed by its own people. They signed onto KU. From 1332 to 1500, KU would work as a ploy and trick governments like TGE in order to gain power.
In 1499, Brother Martin, an anti-oppressive activist, uncovered the evil regime of KU, as well as its funding by Big Red (rival of Earth), and demanded TGE and Earth leave it (through a referendum). However, he was kidnapped and imprisoned for this. In May 1500, the newly-formed Neo Lookout Crew took it about themselves to rescue Martin. Doing so, KU realized they faced a threat, and immediately took complete military control over everything it had governance over, including Earth. KU's leadership (including Lord Kyrr and his 3 children) was effectively dissipated by the NLC after they rescued Martin.
